Walking with God

Noah and Enoch walked with God. It seems Isabel does, too.
This weekend she finished a task assigned by her father, then tells me: "I think I need to pray." As she walked from room to room, this is what I heard:
"Dear God, thank you for giving me the job Daddy told me to do and thank you for helping me to do it right. I'm sorry I was whining this morning. Will you forgive me? Thank you for listening to my prayers because I know you love me. I love you, too. Amen."
She spoke to our Creator with the ease of breathing. We are told to pray without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:17), but do we? Isabel is teaching me how. No matter what she's doing, she stops in the middle to thank God or to ask for His help. How often do we pray like that? Do we maintain a conversation with God as we walk through our days?

Wow! How cute and convicting is that?? She is something else!
This actually says a lot about you as parents. It is obvious that you have put a priority on prayer in your family...good work! :)

What a sweet little girl you have! And a testimony to her parents.
I wrote this on my blog in response to you but realized you may not check it, so here it is:
"Tanya, I think you and I are kindred spirits. Besides realizing that we're getting old at 30, we share some same goals. I picked up my Hebrew book not too long ago realizing how much I'd forgotten. As far as the Broadway play--I'm a Broadway baby and would love to do that! In fact, I wrote that into my character just for fun. She does audition for a play (whereas I haven't!). And my husband and I have a goal to someday build a business where we could be in the States for 9 mos of the year and then overseas for 3 mos where Chris could mentor business guys and invest in overseas burgeoning businesses and I could care for the widows and orphans and do some teaching.
I love dreams."
Jen: Thanks for the encouragement! All I think is "Man, I wish I were more like her in my faith!" But you're right - she had to learn it somewhere. She just seems to have perfected it long before her parents! :)
Heather: Of course I check back! I'll comment over there. We are DEFINITELY kindred spirits!!
How precious! It's so good to see our children following the ways of the Lord, even at such a young age.
I'm here believe it or not via TWVII, through the website discussion. Your website/blog design is fantastic. I emailed you with a few questions when you get a chance. I also just visited your designers site.
Have a great weekend! I'll be back to visit more.
God bless,
Susan
P.S. I live about 45 minutes from PBU. My brother-in-law graduated from PBU and my dad used to teach in their graduate program - Dr. Zweitzig.
Susan: When did your brother-in-law attend? Would I know him? It's a pretty small campus. :) Listen, I didn't receive your emails. Please send them again. I'd love to chat with you!
Hi Tanya! Just stopped a minute to say hi! Glad I got to hear more Isabel doings. Wow. What a young lady is emerging. May the Lord keep this spirit within her.
Hope you are doing well. I see you are busy! Only had time to skim your other posts. God bless!!
